The links below represent a lot of memories some of the links below had not been posted in years, many of them are Barrera family related. I originally created the site in memory of our parents (Manuel and Otalia) who both passed away in 2004. We are a large family of eight brothers and sisters of which I am the oldest. Two brothers live here in Houston, both are Houston Police Officers, one is a lieutenant and the other works in Major Offenders. Two sisters and a brother who still live in Corpus Christi, Texas. One sister that lives in Alice, Texas and one brother that left for colder climates, Joel Barrera. Other links are events that we have done over the years.

Both our parents were very special they sacrificed so that all their children would have opportunities that they never had. Both our parents were migrant workers. My dad was raised by an aunt as his mother passed away when he was three years old. He served in the army during WWII for four years in the Pacific Theater where he received numerous medals for the campaigns he was involved in. My mother's whole life was dedicated to her children, her goal was that we would all finish high school as no member of her family had ever graduated from high school. I remember her telling me "Meme (my nickname given to me by my mother) you have to go to college so that none of your brothers and sisters can say Meme didn't go." Because of her and our dad and the sacrifices that they made all of us graduated from high school and all of us have at least an associate degree or vocational degree.
