Pa goes to war, here, May require Microsoft plugin to view depending if your computer already has it installed, a 45 minute clip of an audio interview that my brother Joel Andres Barrera did of our father a few years before he passed away. The clip is a very brief history of his years in the War. My father Manuel Barrera and his brother Armando were in the Pacific theater. This is the only time that my dad spoke about the war.

Houston Architecture; These images have been captured over the years utilizing different cameras and lens. slide show

Monochrome; A series of images of various objects all in black and white.

Street People; All of the images were taken within a four block area of City Hall in downtown Houston. There are many other places where many more street people can be found but I wanted to confine my photography to an area that is normally promoted for tourism.

Brazos Bend State Park; recent photos taken during the month of December 2009.

Nuestro Sueño Gathering - A family gathering, the images were taken with my G9, this gathering had been years in the making, my sister-in-law would not allow it until a bathroom had been installed. So my brother and his partner, Rudy (my sister in law's uncle) worked for years to make their dream come true (nuesto sueño). First the land had to be cleared, water well found, cabin built, and finally indoor plumbing, all work was done by them on weekends.

Via Colori Festival 2009 - Street art performed to benefit the hearing and speech impaired. The photos were taken with a Canon 1Ds and a Tamron 14mm lens. Slide Show

Texas Renaissance Festival Opening Day 2009 - This is my favorite festival to attend. It is billed as the largest festival of its kind in the United States. The festival runs from October till Thanksgiving weekend. On this day I took my 50 and 70-200L, the video part was done with a Canon G9. Slide Show

Manuel Barrera (Pa) - This for my family which can trace their ancestry back to the 1770s with the founding of the City of Mier. Mier is on the south side of the border of the United States across from Roma, Texas. Any one that has Barrera as a last name and can trace their roots to that area is probably related to us.

Barrera Family - This is my family, four brothers and three sisters all born in Corpus Christi, Texas. This slide show is for my family to enjoy without having to take out albums. Slide show begins with my maternal relatives.
